About

The Texas Cichlid Association is a group of hobbyists whose aim is to gather, organize, and distribute knowledge of cichlids (family cichlidae), to promote fellowship among its members, and to further the conservation of species and their habitat through education of its members.

The organization produces Cichlid Tails, a bi-monthly publication dedicated to sharing technical and educational information on the keeping of Cichlids, and the keeping of aquariums and aquarium fish in general.  Meetings are held monthly, educational seminars, shows and auctions are held at least twice per year.

The TCA is a member of the Federation of Texas Aquarium Societies (FOTAS), a state organization that aids in the formation and maintenance of Texas Aquarium Clubs, and to advance the knowledge about aquarium science.  TCA members are invited to participate in meetings, workshops, seminars, shows, and auctions at various aquarium clubs around the state.

Membership is open to all persons interested in furthering the aims of the society.
