FUN IN THE SUN AT JOE POOL LAKE
by Kathy England
On Saturday, June 30, 2001, TCA held its monthly meeting at the group pavilion at Joe Pool Lake in Arlington. Although there was plenty of rain that morning, it moved out of the area by around 1:00, and the sun broke through.
We had great attendance and a wonderful time. Folks who showed up included the Englands, the Montgomerys, the Youngs, the Gilliams, Diane Stewart, Kathy Stearns, Randy Rhoades, and Ron Trebor and his two youngsters. Seems like there were some other folks, but I can’t remember who–forgive my forgetfulness!
Alan and Kim brought their jet ski, and everyone enjoyed watching them ride it. Assisting them were several folks, including James Montgomery and “Little” John Gilliam. James enjoyed riding the jet ski as well as dog-paddling around in the shallow water, under Mom’s watchful eye.
The cookout began at 6 p.m., and those dogs and burgers sure were good. Thanks, Marvin, for doing such a good job with the grilling. There were plenty of leftovers, which were doled out among attendees.
We are considering making this an annual TCA event. If you missed it this time, maybe you can make it next year!
