The TCA June monthly meeting is going to be a pool party/cookout at the home of Tom & Melissa Ruden, 2676 Gardendale Drive, Fort Worth TX 76120. We are scheduled to start at 3 PM.
Tom and Melissa are going to provide Hotdogs and Burgers. We need everyone else to bring chips and drinks. Mike has asked you to RSVP no later than Wednesday, June 8th so we can get a clear head count. Mike’s e-mail address is aggiefishman@ live.com.
If you want to swim just bring your swim suit, but it is also Ok to just attend and enjoy the cookout.
TCA will be hosting the Spring 2016 Auction

This is the same location as our past several auctions (map below). Most of the details will be familiar to those of you who have attended our auctions in the past.
As usual 3 different things will be taking place – somewhat simultaneously.
|Live Auction||Only Live Fish, rocks, and tanks over 20 gallons allowed|
|Silent Auction||All items not listed above, including plants, tanks 20 gallons & under, decorations, etc|
|Buy It Now Table||This option is not available at this auction.|
|The Raffle.||Buy tickets at the registration table at $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.|

|8:30 AM||Latest arrival time for TCA members to arrive to help with setup.|
|9:00 AM||Registration will be open for sellers only.|
|10:00 AM||Registration Table will be open for buyer registration. No buyers allowed in until after registration.|
|11:00 AM||Live Auction will begin.|
|??||The auction will end when the last item has been sold|
|??||Final raffle will be conducted after the auction ends. You must still be present to win.|

April 16: TCA will hold the regular monthly meeting at the Fish Gallery in Dallas on Saturday, April 16th. Carla Johnson will demonstrate how to make your own fish food and has promised free samples will be available after the presentation.
NOTE SPECIAL MEETING TIME OF 5:30. We need to start on time and finish our meeting promptly so the Fish Gallery folks can close the store and go home.

Through the generosity of Texas Aquatics, The Texas Cichlid Association is hosting a swap meet on Sunday, March 20th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Texas Aquatics–6908 Baker Boulevard in Richland Hills Texas. The swap meet will take place in the front parking lot.
Those wishing to sell will need to provide their own table. Some have thought about just selling out of the back of their car/SUV/pickup. There is no charge for sellers since you are responsible for your own table.
Feel free to attend and bring snacks, drinks, etc. It would be helpful if you let Jolee know about what food items you plan to bring.

March 20: TCA Swap Meet on Texas Aquatics’ parking lot. Vendor set-up begins at 12:30; Sales from 1:00 to 4:00. NOTE: In case of inclement weather causing cancellation, alternate date will be April 3.

August 20: Annual TCA end-of-summer cookout hosted by Alan Young, 1201 Brookvalley, Arlington. We need some type of short program for this meeting.
September 11: TCA Fall Auction. Hilton Garden Inn, Irving (the usual place).
October 21-23: FOTAS convention hosted by Hill Country Cichlid Club, in Schertz.
No November TCA meeting.
December 10: Annual Christmas Party and Crazy Santa gift exchange at Texas Aquatics. Attendees bring snacks and finger foods. Those wishing to participate in the gift exchange should bring something nice to swap. Gifts can be live fish or merely fish-related.
TCA will be holding the first meeting of 2016 this Saturday night at 7 PM. The agenda consists of 4 things:
- Officer/Board elections
- Finalizing the 2016 monthly schedule
- Announcement of the annual Breeder’s Award
- Phil Tucker will give a brief talk on raising & Breeding Plecos
- A fun raffle of a collection of beautiful Plecos
Renewal membership forms will be available and you must pay 2016 dues ($5) to vote or run for office.
The February meeting details are still in process. We would love to have someone volunteer to host that meeting, which should be held February 20th. Let Mike ( e-mail at Aggiefishman@live.com ) know if you are willing to help with that. A final decision on the exact details will be made at the meeting.

The Christmas extravaganza is always lots of fun, and this year we are asking those attending to bring their favorite finger foods plus a chair. TCA will provide the soft drinks, water, etc.
If you want to be involved in the Crazy Santa gift exchange, you need to bring a fish related item or actual live fish.
